EcoCementos’s new cement plant at Rio Claro in the Sonsón municipality of Antioquia in Colombia is designed for a production capacity of 1.35Mt/yr. The industrial area is to be completed in mid-2019 and it is expected to capture 7% of the market share. OHL Industrial was hired for the construction of the project, which includes buildings from steel and concrete.
AKM BIM Engineers were hired by OHL Industrial and were responsible for the connection analysis, design and detailing of 6 buildings in the cement plant. Each structure was designed with 2000 connections approximately. Analyses for bearing capacity and capacity design comformable with AISC Standards were performed. Detailing of the connections was designed from our experienced team. Top rated design and detailing softwares were used for the best possible supervision of the project.
Our team were also responsible for the connection review of other 9 constructions in the cement plant executing the analysis and the detailing of the connections.
AKM implemented all up to date processes for the design and detailing of connections in order to offer high-value services to the clients. Project deliverables were exported from excellent BIM, design and detailing softwares.
